The company
was founded in 2022, based out of Tanzania. AQUAY is a composition of “water” and “way” and mirrors the company’s vision and approach: Water, or rather: H2O, is a unique element; found in nature in all three states of aggregation – and water always finds its way. At AQUAY we want to be flexible, and it is our belief that there is always a way and a solution. Together with the client we will develop the best approach and define the optimal solution.
The upsidedown triangle
is the alchemical symbol for water – for us at AQUAY it symbolises the importance of connectivity: client – project goal – given environment. We reconcile these three elements throughout to obtain satisfying and moreover, sustainable results.
Founder and Managing Director
Tina Eisele
I have over 15 years of experience in international development cooperation and thus, project management, and, obviously, I am passionate about it. I like to work with people, be it individuals or teams. It brings me great joy to support people in sharpening their goals and finding the right way and organisation to reach these goals, while at the same time strengthening their capacities. This passion motivated me to found AQUAY.
Tina holds a Master of Arts in Geography and Islamic Studies and a Master of Science in Integrated Water Resource Management. Her studies and work brought her to the Middle East, where she spent altogether 8 years in Egypt, Jordan, and Libya. She is an expert in the water and sanitation sectors with a focus on decentralised systems.
Before founding AQUAY, she worked for GIZ (Deutsche Gesellschaft fuer Internationale Zusammenarbeit). Her career with GIZ started in 2012, when she worked for a GIZ project in Albania and handled the introduction of decentralised sanitation systems. This was followed by an assignment at GIZ Headquarters in Germany, where she supported the planning and implementation of water and sanitation projects in the Middle East, Asia, and Sub-Saharan Africa.
From 2016 until 2022, she worked for GIZ in Tanzania. During that time, she was also the spokesperson of a sector network comprising of all GIZ water and sanitation projects in Sub-Saharan Africa (2018-2022). Tina has an in-depth knowledge of the Tanzanian water sector and worked closely with the Tanzanian Ministry of Water, the National Water Fund, the Regulatory Authority EWURA, water and sanitation utilities as well as with other sector-related institutions. She supported the revision and development of sector documents, including acts and policies, and regulatory guidelines, and developed and executed trainings in the field of sanitation and sector financing. Furthermore, she was responsible for the realisation of infrastructure projects for both water and sanitation, in different cities and towns of Tanzania.
Tina Eisele is a certified project manager and due to her various assignments, she gathered experience in project management in different environments and cultures. Her technical background is supplemented by experience and training in capacity development, including the development of trainings and team retreats, and preparation and moderation of events.
She is fluent in German and English and can hold conversations in French as well as Arabic.
